Michael Neuman is Managing Director of Elevest Corporation, a consulting firm engaged in the provision of capital and management resources to early stage technology companies. Mr. Neuman has enjoyed a twenty-five year C-level executive career in roles spanning business-to-business and consumer products and services in Canada, U.S. and Europe, in public and private companies ranging from start-up to Fortune 500. Mr. Neuman has led companies through significant change including turnaround, reorganization, sale/merger as well as very high growth in satellite TV, Internet and wireless. Mr.Neuman’s previously held President or CEO positions include: EchoStar Corp.; Bell Mobility; Bell ExpressVu; iaxis inc.; Teleglobe Europe; WorldLinx Telecom; Cerberus Canada and V Band Corporation.

David LewisDavid Lewis
Chairman & CEO, FreeHD Canada Inc. and Lewis Communications

A 33 year veteran of Canada’s Satellite Broadcasting and Telecom industries, Mr. Lewis has helped establish several Canadian success stories, and held a variety of executive management positions with leading Canadian Common Carrier, Broadcast and Satellite Relay Distribution Undertakings, and Telecom Service Providers. Mr. Lewis aided in providing some of the first voice communications services to remote communities across Canada's Arctic.

Mr. Lewis played a key role in launching all three operating Canadian DTH companies; initially employed by Tee-Comm during the formation and initial technical operation of ExpressVu, he became President of Tee-Comm's AlphaStar Canada. Lewis subsequently served as President of Star Choice Business Network Services. Following Star Choice’s merger with Cancom, Lewis became SVP & CTO. Lewis co-founded LinCsat Communications, and was President & COO of LinCsat and its TSX-traded parent Imark Corporation (IAK). Following Barrett Corporation's purchase of LinCsat, Lewis served as VP Business Development for Barrett Xplore.

In 2004, Lewis was instrumental in founding Ciel Satellite Group, serving as Ciel’s President & COO. In 2006, he was appointed Ciel’s President & CEO and a Director. During his tenure Ciel launched its first satellite, Ciel-2, and was awarded 7 orbital spectrum Licences by Industry Canada in the 2006 Competitive Licencing Initiative. In 2009 Mr. Lewis founded FreeHD Canada and serves as Chairman & CEO as well as Lewis Communications; a private company active in consulting and development of new businesses.

Mr. Lewis has served on the Board of several industry associations, and is currently Chairman of the Canadian Satellite and Space Industry Forum (CSSIF).

David R. CooperDavid R. Cooper, P.Eng, MBA
President and Chief Executive Officer, MSCI

Mr. David Cooper founded MSCI (formerly the Space Division of Dynacon) in early 2008. As General Manager of Dynacon’s Space Division, Mr. Cooper shaped all aspects of the microsatellite and ACS product lines, including sales and marketing, program management, engineering management, contract management, financial management, production and product assurance.

When Mr. Cooper acquired the Space Division of Dynacon, he also acquired its excellent heritage established over two decades, as well as a core of the finest microsatellite engineers anywhere.

Drawing on over 25 years in aerospace management, and on an in-depth knowledge of business, Mr. Cooper’s vision for MSCI includes building a preeminent microsatellite space company in North America that serves the military, civil and commercial sectors – a company where personal excellence and respect will lead to exceptional results.

Prior to MSCI and Dynacon, Mr. Cooper joined Honeywell's Advanced Technology Centre as Director of Programs. Later, he joined Spar Aerospace in Brampton where he had the opportunity to enjoy a series of program and engineering management positions, from defining systems engineering requirements for the International Space Station, Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator (SPDM), to strategic development of Spar’s long-term strategy for space robotics. Through Spar, Mr. Cooper was also seconded to the Canadian Space Agency under the Interchange Canada Program as the Director of International Marketing where he authored Canada’s first International Marketing Plan in Space.

Mr. Cooper graduated from Canada’s Royal Military College with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree, and from Queen’s University with a Master’s in Business Administration. He served in the Canadian Forces through a wide range of engineering and air operations positions.

Justin Phillips has worked with MSCI since October 2008. In his role as Vice President, Marketing, Justin is responsible for the overall marketing strategy, corporate branding, public relations, communications, business development (new markets), and marketing programs. 

Prior to joining MSCI, Justin served as President & CEO of HiPoint Marketing Inc., and has held the position of Vice President, Marketing at ProMobility and ClearPicture Corporation. He has also held senior marketing positions with InSystems Technologies and Platform Computing. As a valued member of the Centennial College faculty, Justin taught Internet Marketing and Web Development at The Bell Centre for Creative Communications. 

Justin Holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Geography from York University. Justin is also trained in Solution Selling and Pragmatic Marketing.
